Despite having lost a kneecap as a teenager, causing her to experience constant pain when running, extraordinary Fiona is the holder of four Guinness World Records in endurance events, including being the fastest woman to complete a marathon on all 7 Continents. A compassionate vegan since the age of 6, Fiona has devoted her life to rescuing animals and promoting the ethical vegan diet. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “With tears of love and awe, gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Ms. Fiona Oakes, with heartfelt praises and sincere respect for all that you do for our precious animal friends and the planet, plus a gift of US$21,000 as a humble token of support for your noble work.”

Growing up in Israel, Aylam’s love for animals began at a young age when he rescued and cared for the homeless cats that wandered the streets. Later, making the connection to the suffering of animals used for food, he became vegan, and an activist at many animal rights events. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Happily present Aylam Orian with the Shining World Compassion Award, with a loving gift of US$10,000 towards your noble organization, ‘Our Planet. Theirs Too.’”

Founded by Patti Ragan in 1993, the Center for Great Apes is a non-profit organization in Wauchula, Florida, that provides sanctuary to great apes such as chimpanzees and orangutans. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Ms. Patti Ragan, with a token gift of US$15,000 to support the Center for Great Apes.”

To promote the vegan diet in connection with faith, the Reverend Father Chang formed the Catholic Messengers of Green Consciousness and the Hong Kong Catholic Vegetarian Association. The groups regularly have meetings, activities, and vegan cooking sessions, and are becoming well known to the public. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Reverently offer Father Anthony Chang Sang Loy and His organizations, the Catholic Messengers of Green Consciousness and the Hong Kong Catholic Vegetarian Association, the Shining World Protection Award with a humble contribution of US$10,000 toward His noble mission with praises and best wishes.”

During January 2021, Master presented 10 Shining World Awards with a US$90,000 contribution in total. Thanks to Her compassionate care and support, these awardees have been encouraged to continue their loving paths, helping people and animals in need, despite any difficulty.
