Where will we get our power in the future? And what are the best sources of renewable energy? Professor Martin Green, the “father of photovoltaics” shares his insights on these questions. I see solar and wind, and I think most of the electricity companies here in Australia would see solar being their main source of electricity generation over the coming decades. So, they have no interest in building any more coal-fired plants in Australia, because it’s too expensive and the solar is going to become even cheaper. Internationally renowned for his work in improving solar energy, his group has held the world record for achieving the highest efficiency in silicon soar cells for 30 of the past 34 years.
