In today’s news, Spain aids refugees and migrants from Venezuela, climate change threatens communities in the Himalayas, German materials company invents hydrogen energy cream for motorcycles and e-scooters, pigs successfully learn to play video games in United States study, world’s largest art canvas by Dubai-based British painter raises funds for COVID-19 affected children, Scottish doctor credits a plant-based diet with keeping her cancer-free, and Team Ruff wins Puppy Bowl 2021 in United States.

Spanish agency supports Venezuelan refugees.

The Spanish Agency for International Development and Cooperation contributed €5 million to support refugees and migrants from Venezuela and their major host communities in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, as well as people in need in Venezuela. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused increased unemployment and compounded challenges faced by refugees and migrants. Therefore, the funding, distributed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), will be used to enhance health and education systems, plus support socio-economic integration in the host countries. Spain is a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion. Bravo, Spanish Agency for International Development and Cooperation and the International Organization for Migration, for your loving care for the vulnerable. May all refugees and migrants be blessed with lasting peace and good health, in God’s boundless mercy.

Global warming endangers millions of lives in the Himalayas.

According to the Nepal-based International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, 15% of the glaciers in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region has been lost since 1970 due to global warming, affecting the lives of approximately 77 million people. In particular, the melting of a large piece of ice that broke off from the Ronti glacier following a rockslide resulted in the recent catastrophic, deadly flood in Uttarakhand state of India. Furthermore, shrinking winters and erratic snowfall are reducing water availability for drinking and agriculture, while increased extreme rainfall in the monsoon season is damaging crops. The Centre warned that with the current rising temperatures, glacier volumes could decline 90% by 2100. Thank you, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, for this assessment. We pray for our Himalayan brothers and sisters’ wellbeing, and that our world will urgently embrace the most climate-friendly, vegan lifestyle, in Heaven’s guidance.

Up next, German materials company invents hydrogen powerpaste for motorcycles and e-scooters. We’ll just take a little time to thank the moldmakers who fabricate the rigid, hollowed-out frames for casting smartphone cases. Will return with more high-thinking news after these messages here on Supreme Master Television.

Good day, radiant viewers! I’m Austin the vegan Aardvark. Where does my endless energy come from? Plants! So power up like me on vegan fare. Today, I’d like to offer a tip. Want to be environmentally conscious and conserve paper and trees? Rather than printing papers out to file, try saving them as PDF documents (under Save As), then transfer them to a cloud storage system. Organize the files in separate folders on your computer. Next time you’re looking for a specific document, you can easily search by folder or keyword to find them. Thank you for tuning in, and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now the weather around the globe!

Inventors create hydrogen-binding cream to power small-size vehicles.

Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials has developed a cream called a powerpaste that can be used to fuel small cars, scooters, and motorcycles. The putty-like substance is magnesium-based and when mixed with water, releases hydrogen gas that is converted into electricity to propel a vehicle. The powerpaste was created to address the challenges faced in the hydrogen energy industry of requiring heavy fuel tanks and high-pressure refueling processes. Thus, till now, hydrogen energy has been more suitable for larger vehicles like planes and ships. But the new invention, once fully developed, can be used for small or large vehicles, and also appliances like coffee makers. What a smart, outside-the-box solution, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials! May more inventors tune into the Universal storehouse of bright ideas to build a cleaner planet.

Pigs have success learning video games.

Scientists at Purdue University in Indiana, United States, taught a duo of two-year-old Panepinto micro pigs and two three-month-old Yorkshire pigs to manipulate a joystick in order to control a cursor on a computer monitor. The test participants, who were rewarded with treats when they accomplished the visuospatial task before them, demonstrated their intelligence in a manner that researchers called “remarkable, and indicative of their behavioral and cognitive flexibility.” Interestingly, a skill gap was noted in the individual pigs: the Panepinto pigs, named Ebony and Ivory, both performed at an 84% success rate when presented with the easiest task, but at the most difficult level Ivory was able to complete with 32% more accuracy than her pal Ebony. We are impressed yet again by the abilities of our bright and marvelous porcine friends! May due respect and love soon be given to all animal individuals with whom we share this planet.

World record-winning painting raises funds for millions of youth.

Based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), renowned British artist and philanthropist Sacha Jafri has set a Guinness World Record for creating “the largest art canvas” with his painting entitled “The Journey of Humanity.” Created in The Palm ballroom of Dubai’s luxury hotel Atlantis, the almost 1,600 square meter artwork took Mr. Jafri seven months, working 20 hours a day. The completed masterpiece was sold at an auction for US$62 million, double the expected amount, all to support 10 million children critically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Focusing on education, digital connectivity, healthcare and sanitation, the humanitarian initiative was in partnership with the UAE government, UNESCO, UNICEF, as well as the philanthropic groups Dubai Cares and Global Gift Foundation. The United Arab Emirates is a recipient of the Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance and a laureate of Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, Environment Protection, Protection, and Compassion. Our warm felicitations, Sacha Jafri, and many thanks to you and all involved. Looking forward to more such endeavors of art and charity, in Divine upliftment.

Coming up, Scottish doctor credits vegan diet with keeping her cancer-free. We’ll pause for a moment to be grateful for our favorite meditation spot where we can peacefully recharge every day. Supreme Master Television will return in just a moment with more touching news. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Loving News for a Compassionate World.

Doctor’s plant-based diet helps with cancer recovery.

Dr. Laura Freeman from Glasgow, Scotland, was pregnant when a lump in her neck was detected during a routine check-up. It was found to be thyroid cancer. After giving birth, Dr. Freeman had the tumor removed but decided against taking the usual next step of iodine radiotherapy. In lieu of that, she conducted her own research, discovered the benefits of veganism, and with her family replaced their meat and dairy intake with whole plant foods. Dr. Freeman said, “Having a plant-based diet has saved my life; it’s been nothing short of transformational for me and my family.” Together with another vegan doctor, she now runs a service called Plant Based Health Online and has seen many patients come off their diabetes and blood pressure medication as a result of the diet change. What wonderful news, Dr. Laura Freeman! Thank you for helping others improve their health as you did your own through a vegan lifestyle. May you, your family and all those you inspire, thrive, in the support of the Providence.

Team Ruff lauded as this year’s Puppy Bowl champions.

The 17th annual beloved televised game, on the US channel Animal Planet, was a happy celebration for Team Ruff, as well as for all the 70 adorable participating puppies. Modelled after the Super Bowl, an American football game, the Puppy Bowl sports event features only adoptable pups from shelters playing about on a miniature football field, displaying their unique personalities. Kittens also have their chance to exhibit their charm during halftime, with all the featured canines and felines then being adopted into their forever homes. This year’s MVP (Most Valuable Pup), whom viewers vote for, was awarded to Marshall, a hearing-impaired terrier who is training to be a support dog for nurses on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. Puppy Bowl was created to encourage the adoption of the vast number of animals in shelters. Our joyful appreciation, Animal Planet and Puppy Bowl. We pray that one day soon, all precious animals will have loving homes.

Now, get ready for a good laugh with a joke of the day, entitled, “Football Ticket.”

At a football match, Sam saw one very enthusiastic boy and asked him:

"Hey, kid, where did you get money for such an expensive ticket?"

"My father bought it."

"Why didn’t he come with you?"

"He is at home looking for the ticket."
