On the first day of the visit to the Ashram, the esteemed dignitaries from the Philippines, along with their wives, enjoyed a delightful vegan dinner and warm conversation with Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan).

“And we made it all for you, just for you. (Thank You.) Extra flowers, everything, all for you. (The flowers are beautiful.) Yes, yes, they’re all for you – all because of you. (Thank You.) And New Year, we also celebrate, but not as much as this year’s, thanks to you. And if you were not here, I would not have come to Taiwan (Formosa) just now, no. We just had a retreat in Thailand, about twenty-something- thousand people. Just a month or so ago. Or more, over a month. So, I did not plan to come here just yet. Just because you came, so I came. And everybody comes. They’re happy, say they will thank you.

I mean you all; because of you I have come back to Taiwan (Formosa) so soon. (Normally how many times in a year do You come back here?) Well, I haven’t come here since maybe a few years already. But before, I lived here. And I built all this for the people to come and relax and meditate. And afterwards I had to share myself with the whole world, so in every country I stay for a little bit. […]

These are all vegan. They do look like non(-vegan), but they are. (They are amazing.) Yes, and all the drinks you have – no alcohol. So you can drive. (You are vegan.) Yes, yes. We all are. And then here, all these people that you have seen here are all vegans. We don’t eat (animal-people) eggs, (animal-people) meat, nothing. OK. Good appetite. […]”
