In today’s news, Japan provides food assistance to Palestinian refugees, global experts call for tax on meat consumption and livestock production, remote control technology improves safety of warehouse workers during COVID-19, research reveals watching nature on screen improves mood, 87-year-young Indian homeopath treats patients despite the pandemic, Greenpeace releases short film that links animal livestock raising to Amazon destruction, and United States governor signs new law to protect native species.

Japan provides food assistance to Palestinian refugees.

The government of Japan, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection, and Generosity laureate, has contributed about US$4.3 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This funding allows the organization to continue its food aid for 99,000 Palestine refugees most at risk in Gaza, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a UNRWA press release, Director of Communications & Arabic Language Spokesperson of the UNRWA, Sami Mshasha said, “The government of Japan has been exemplary in its support to the Agency. We deeply appreciate this very generous support during an exceptionally challenging period of its existence to assist the vulnerable community.” Our heartfelt gratitude, Japan, and Heaven bless you! In the embrace of the Divine, may the Palestine refugees find safety and stability, as we move closer to lasting World Peace.

Global experts call for tax on meat consumption and livestock production to avoid “Era of Pandemics.”

In the major study “Workshop on Biodiversity and Pandemics” published by the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), 22 international scientists highlighted that pandemic risks are driven by human activities. The main factors include wildlife trade and animal livestock raising, which are also propelling climate change and biodiversity loss. Chaired by Dr. Peter Daszak, president of United States- based nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance, the report warned that there are up to 827,000 unknown viruses in nature that could infect humanity. To prevent “more frequent, deadly, and costly pandemics”, the study urged policy makers to promote a transition to healthier and more sustainable diets, levy taxes on meat consumption and livestock production, and regulate wildlife trade. Many thanks, Dr. Peter Daszak and all experts involved in this important IPBES report. To safeguard the Earth for all inhabitants, may every country take unequivocal and urgent steps to accelerate humanity’s transition to a vegan world, in Heaven’s wisdom.

Up next, remote control technology improves safety of warehouse workers in the wake of COVID-19. We’ll spend some time now to thank obstetricians who work tirelessly to provide expert medical care for expectant mothers during pregnancy and childbirth, to ensure safe deliveries as well as healthy moms and babies. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more engaging news.

Hey, amazing viewers, it’s Veronica the vegan Violet-spotted Reef Lobster. The vegan journey of a lifetime begins with a single plant-based meal. What are you waiting for? Today I would like to share a laundry tip with you. Save money and go green by making your own reusable laundry sponges instead of disposable dryer sheets! You will need sponges, vegan, eco-friendly liquid fabric softener, water and a container. Cut the sponges based on the size of the container you are planning on using. Create the mixture by adding 2 cups of the liquid fabric softener to 2 cups of water. You can add more or less according to the container size you use. Allow the sponges to soak up the mixture. When you need to use a laundry sponge, take a sponge out and squeeze out any excess liquid. Throw the sponge in the dryer with the wet clothes and let the fabric softener do the work! After your laundry is dried, put the sponge back into the container with the mixture and keep on reusing the sponge until the mixture is all used up. Thank you for your attention, and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

Remote control technology improves safety of warehouses in wake of COVID-19.

While many people have relied on goods being delivered to their homes during the pandemic, there is some concern that warehouses can be transmission points for the virus. Fortunately, a currently available technology called teleoperation is being offered by companies such as Phantom Auto and Teleo, both United States-based, to allow operators of forklifts and other equipment to work remotely. The machines are fitted with cameras and sensors that enable the drivers to control them from a distance. Teleoperation not only has safety benefits for the drivers but also for all of us during the pandemic, as well as helping to meet the demand for heavy duty truck drivers in the construction industry. Our appreciation, all who are developing this remarkable advancement. Your innovation gives us a practical option that promotes safety, in Heaven’s boundless care.

Study reveals that watching nature on a screen improves mood.

Researchers from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom have discovered that watching nature on a TV or a virtual reality set relieves boredom and decreases negative moods. Ninety-six adult study participants were taken into a lab where they watched a four-minute video to induce boredom. Afterwards they viewed an underwater coral reef clip from the BBC’s “Blue Planet II” series either on television, on a virtual reality headset with a 360-degree video or on a virtual reality headset with computer-generated interactive graphics. All three groups experienced minimized negative emotions such as sadness and much lower levels of boredom, while the interactive virtual reality group had increased positive emotions and enhanced feeling of connection to nature. The study has been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Environmental Psychology. Fascinating news, University of Exeter researchers. In God’s delight, may all people be blessed to regularly experience our soothing natural world.

Despite the pandemic, 87-year-young homeopath continues to provide treatment to patients in remote villages in India.

For six decades, Ramchandra Dandekar, lovingly referred to by his patients as “doctor”, has been providing Ayurvedic and homeopathic health care services to residents in his home district of Chandrapur, Maharashtra State. The devoted homeopath usually walks or rides his bicycle with bare feet to areas that are often inaccessible otherwise, traveling up to 10 kilometers a day. Carrying two bags with medications and test kits, Mr. Dandekar has treated thousands of patients, with people paying or not according to their ability. Although friends and relatives have cautioned him to stop his work during the pandemic, he said, “For a doctor, his patients’ health comes first.” Heaven bless you, Ramchandra Dandekar, for your noble spirit and exemplary love. May your outstanding deeds serve as a reminder for all to embrace selfless concern for the well-being of others, in Celestial beneficence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Ramchandra Dandekar, with a humble contribution of US$10,000 in support of your benevolent work, with all love and gratitude in Divine grace. May Heaven uplift and protect you and all whom you serve.”

Coming up, Greenpeace releases short film that links animal livestock raising to Amazon destruction. We are going to pause for a moment to feed our wonderful animal companions some vegan snacks. More high thinking news coming up on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Distinguished News for a Brilliant World.

Greenpeace releases short film linking animal livestock raising to Amazon destruction.

The animated film entitled “There’s a Monster in My Kitchen,” was created by the international environmental organization Greenpeace and the United Kingdom-based independent creative agency Mother. It centers on a jaguar named Jag-wah who had to leave his South American forest home due to the area being cleared for animal feed production and livestock raising. Narrated by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, the film’s goal is to inform people about the extensive deforestation in the Amazon rainforest caused by the demand for meat. Legendary vegetarian British musician Sir Paul McCartney, a Shining World Compassionate Artist Award laureate, who has an animated cameo in the film, expressed the urgency of the transition to a plant-based diet, saying in a Meat Free Monday newsletter, “… Our forests–and all our futures–depend on it.” The film will be shared on social media as well as in movie theatres around the world. Thank you, Greenpeace and Mother, for this powerful campaign! We pray that individuals and industries alike take responsibility for their actions and move quickly towards a planet-renewing vegan way of life, in God’s mercy.

United States governor signs bill to safeguard native species.

The governor of South Carolina, the Honorable Henry McMaster, has signed into law new regulations that ban the commercial trade of 13 species of turtles native to the state, as well as enhance protection of other native reptiles and amphibians, to prevent poaching and illegal trade. The new rules were developed with the help of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and advocated by them, the residents of South Carolina, and organizations including the US-based Center for Biological Diversity and the Turtle Survival Alliance. The legislation also supports ecological conservation, as turtles help to maintain the health of rivers and lakes. Our gratefulness, Governor Henry McMaster and South Carolina. In Divine compassion, may all governments seek to enact laws to protect our precious animal co-inhabitants who bless our world.

Here are some funny lines to cheer you up. It’s a joke called “Requirements.”

“Why aren’t you married yet?”

“Well, my ideal woman has to be real pretty, a good cook and an excellent housekeeper. She’s got to be rich and have a pleasant personality. A nice big house wouldn’t hurt either.”

“A woman like that would be crazy to marry you!”

“Oh, it’s OK if she is crazy.”

And now we have a heartline from Ms. Xiao Ming-Ming in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

To the most respected and beloved Supreme Master, and Supreme Master TV team:

As the 2019 7-Day International Christmas Retreat held at the New Land Ashram, Taiwan (Formosa), ended successfully, the bliss of practicing the Quan Yin Method imparted by the Supreme Master has been imprinted in my heart forever. Taiwanese (Formosan) initiates were arranged to meditate in the Cultural Artifacts Museum situated on a higher ground surrounded by forests. On the evening of December 27, I saw Master’s Transcendental body standing on the right side of the staircase to the main hall, giving discourse to the disciples. She was dressed in a traditional Aulacese (Vietnamese) long gown in blue and green, looking radiant and glorious, and extremely dignified. Disciples basked in a million colorful rays of a magnificent sunset that penetrated the walls. With total concentration and in tranquility, they listened to Master’s discourse. Before my eyes, there was the divine vision of a Heavenly realm where the transcendental body of the Universal Master became one with Heaven, Earth, and humans, manifesting Buddhas in the Divine light! I was absolutely enchanted and filled with bliss!

Another time, when I was meditating on the third floor of the Cultural Artifacts Museum, with my spirit happily traveling, I suddenly saw that the Greenhouse Main Hall down the hill was all empty. Inside, innumerable little white balls and dots were floating around, glittering and dancing. The Greenhouse Main Hall had transformed into a Starry Hall full of stars.

I am very grateful to the omniscient and omnipotent Master for holding this 7-Day International Christmas Retreat, bestowing Her tangible and intangible grace to all. She has brought unity, blessing and light to God’s children on this small island of Taiwan (Formosa). During the diligent and focused meditation of initiates from around the world, Master has brought true love, freedom and peace to humankind, allowing elderly disciples to join the evolution of humans and planets, to realize God’s glory and to understand the philosophy of contentment and peacefulness. Long-awaited by humankind, the new era and new world of spirituality and art, Divine love and peace, have quietly arrived! My heart is cheering! My soul is in ecstasy! With utmost sincerity, I offer my eternal love and best wishes, Ms. Xiao Ming-Ming from Taiwan (Formosa)

Kind Xiao Ming-Ming, It always brings the Supreme Master Television team much happiness to hear of disciples’ amazing spiritual experiences through the Quan Yin Method. We try our best to help Master in Her mission to lift the entire planet and all its inhabitants to a higher spiritual level and a peaceful way of life. Sharing experiences like yours helps us to spread the message, and we sincerely thank you. We wish the Heavens continued blessings to you and welcoming Taiwan (Formosa), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master says: “Gentle Xiao Ming-Ming, it is a pleasure to hear that your spiritual progress has allowed you to experience such wonderful visions during meditation at the New Land Ashram. Attending retreats allows us to put aside the mundane world for a few days and concentrate solely on our spiritual duties. Buddha’s radiance to you and your virtuous homeland of Taiwan (Formosa).”
